“Chasing the Nib” is not an idea that is original to me. It is something that I learned by experience and then later found expressed through many voices on the Fountain Pen Network. “Chasing the Nib” means learning to enjoy fountain pens not for some perceived prestige or elan but rather for the joy they give in writing. While there are those who simply collect pens, this site is intended to promote the actual use and enjoyment of fountain pens. Fountain pens aren’t just relics of the past, nor are they only for the prestigious and pretentious. They’re for everyday use, for writing and for doodling.
